How to get to Welchman Hall Gully.
-
From the port
The yellow bus is just a 10-minute walk from the port and will take you direct to Welchman Hall Gully. It’s marked for Sturgess and leaves from the Cheapside terminal.
To get there, walk out of the port, past the taxi drivers and along the seafront. The bus station is about 10 minutes away, on the left near the post office.
The bus leaves at 9.30am and goes via Jackson. Ask anyone at the terminal – the locals are only too happy to help. It’s $US2 (Bds$4) return and US dollars are accepted on board.
Admire the views, meet the locals. Enjoy the music!
The journey takes about 30 minutes. The driver will drop you outside the gully. A bus returns to Cheapside every hour or so, leaving you plenty of time to make it back to the ship.
Arrive at the gully by 10.30am for a free guided tour (available from December to April). For more information ask Barbados Tourism Authority staff at the port.

By bus
You have two choices, private operators or Barbados Transport Board (government buses). Both are the same cost, however, private buses will drop you off directly in front of the Gully.
To take a private (yellow) bus, you must make your way to Bridgetown and look for the Lower Green Bus Terminal located next to the General Post Office. Take the bus with destination to Sturges.
Your trip will be about 25 minutes.

By taxi
Negotiate the price before coming to the Gully, but all taxi drivers will know where the gully is located. If you get a taxi to the Gully, it would be worth also visiting other attractions in the area; they are all located within 5 minutes of each other.
